Journey

audio1

PROFLIGATE child!
saddle my horses
I'm booted and spurred
and journey awaits
my tread

Tempestuous youth!
pack me a sacket
of figs and dried meat
make me this packet
for y'pon the road.

Forbear me, swiven
dissembling lover
I travel tonight
by the light of the moon
Beyond to the Sea of
Dreams of Another
whose shores are watered
by  the tears of a loon

Forlorn, weary mother
your cows of weak udder
cannot make the journey
must stay in their bowery
they're calving soon

Proud, ancient father
you'll press me go farther
but ere then I'll be gone
for I cannot stay

Flexible Shadows!
weave round my horses
yoke them, enfold them
round about woven them
take them and hold them
with the barest of
threads.
